Kumquat Obovata is a variety of citrus plant belonging to the Kumquat collection
It is characterized by a globular habit with long thorns and very fragrant flowers.
Its leaves are oval, medium-sized, with an inner margin, a more rounded apex than other Kumquat varieties and no or barely visible leaflets.
Its fruits are ovoid with a sweet, very smooth or finely papillated, bright orange skin, larger than that of an oval Kumquat.
The pulp is acidic, orange-yellow with seeds (5-6 per fruit) and the skin is sweet.
USES
A very decorative citrus variety due to its greater resistance to cold than other Kumquat varieties. Like all the other varieties in the Kumquat collection, it can be used in various ways in the kitchen. It is a fruit that can be eaten fresh or with the whole peel.
